Dick Cheney

The family of Dick Cheney has announced that the former US vice-president has died at the age of 84.

A politician and businessman, Cheney served under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009. 

He was considered a central figure in the 2003 invasion of Iraq by the US and allied forces.

In a statement, Cheney's family said he died from complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease on Monday night.
