The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) is finalizing preparations for its 43rd Annual General Assembly (AGM), scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Front Page Hotel in Kampala.
Speaking to Vision Sports, USSSA Chief Executive Officer Christophe Mugisha confirmed that preparations are well underway for the assembly, which is mandated by the association’s constitution and aligns with the guidelines of the National Council of Sports (NCS).
“I’m glad to announce that USSSA will hold its 43rd General Assembly on Saturday, 15 November 2025, in line with the statutes of USSSA. Delegates have already received their invitation letters,” Mugisha stated.
The AGM is expected to bring together at least 110 delegates and invited guests from across nineteen zones. The gathering will review past activities, approve financial statements, and finalize the 2026 activity calendar and budget.
USSSA President Justus Mugisha encouraged zonal delegates to use the platform to address challenges affecting talent development in their respective regions.
“The annual general assembly is the highest decision-making body within USSSA’s governance framework. It is the only forum where critical issues are debated, including amendments to statutes and regulations, and the approval of budgets, financial statements, and activity reports,” he emphasized.
A key agenda item for this year’s assembly will be the proposed affiliation with the Uganda School Sports Federation (USSF) — a new umbrella body that will oversee both primary and secondary school sports. While USSSA will maintain full autonomy in managing secondary school sports, the Uganda Primary Schools Sports Association (UPSSA) will handle primary-level activities.
The USSF will also be responsible for managing international affiliations and coordinating Uganda’s participation in global school sports competitions.
“Let us continue working together in unity, discipline, and transparency to advance the development of school sports in Uganda,” Justus Mugisha concluded.
